Acceptance of Terms

Placement of an order constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Sloane by Hand reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

GENERAL SALES POLICY

Trade Sales

Textiles, lampshades, wallpapers, curtain panels and miniature paintings are sold to the trade only, unless expressly indicated otherwise.

Our team will confirm availability, pricing, and order details.

Payment Terms

Full payment (100%) is required prior to production, packing, or shipment.

Final Sale Policy

All sales are final. Returns, exchanges, cancellations, or refunds are not accepted except in cases of damaged or incorrectly shipped goods reported within 3–5 business days of delivery.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Shipping Charges

Fabric orders are charged as follows:

  • Up to 5 yards: USD $125
  • Over 5 yards and up to 10 yards: USD $150
  • Over 10 yards and up to 15 yards: USD $175
  • Orders exceeding 15 yards are quoted separately based on destination, weight and volume.

Multiple Delivery Addresses

Separate shipping charges apply to each delivery address.

Remote Deliveries

For remote locations, DHL may transfer shipments to USPS or another local carrier. Additional transit time may apply.

Inspection Upon Receipt

The recipient must inspect the shipment immediately upon delivery.

Any claim regarding damaged, defective, missing or incorrectly shipped goods must be submitted in writing within 3–5 business days of receipt.

Claims made after this period cannot be accepted.

Once goods have been delivered to the designated address, warehouse, or receiving facility, responsibility transfers to the purchaser.

HANDCRAFTED PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

HANDCRAFTED PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

All products are handcrafted using traditional techniques including hand block printing and Mughal miniature painting.

The purchaser acknowledges that:

  • Slight variations in colour, texture, registration, spacing and alignment are inherent to handmade processes.
  • Small irregularities and natural inconsistencies are part of authentic craftsmanship.
  • Variations caused by natural fibres, dyes and environmental conditions are normal.
  • Colour and texture differences may also occur due to photography, screen settings and digital displays.

These characteristics are not defects and contribute to the individuality of each piece.

FABRICS

Stock Availability

We primarily sell from stock.

Inventory levels change regularly and customers are encouraged to confirm availability before placing an order.

Prompt ordering and payment help secure desired quantities.

Reprints

Out-of-stock fabrics may be reprinted with a minimum order quantity of 50 yards.

Production generally requires 3–4 weeks.

Variations of up to 15% in colour, texture, or print alignment may occur and are considered acceptable.

Special reprint requests are handled individually.

Fabric Lots

Fabric may be supplied in multiple continuous pieces depending on stock.

Example:

  • Order of 6 yards → one continuous 6-yard piece.
  • Order of 8 yards → one 6-yard piece and one 2-yard piece.

Small Quantity Orders

Orders below 6 yards are subject to a 25% surcharge.

Sale Fabrics

For fabrics marked on sale, the entire available quantity must be purchased. Partial quantities are not available.

CFA (Cutting for Approval)

CFAs are available only for orders of 10 yards or more.

Samples are cut from final production lots to maintain colour and pattern consistency.

Fabric Care

Dry cleaning recommended.

Use mild detergent if washing.

Wash separately in cold water or hand wash.

Hang dry only.

Do not tumble dry, bleach, or soak.

Iron on low heat if necessary.

Fusing / Backing

Fusing or backing can be provided upon request at no additional charge.

WALLPAPER

Production

Wallpaper is digitally printed, produced to order, and sold by the roll.

Returns

Wallpaper sales are final.

Returns or exchanges are accepted only for damaged or incorrectly shipped goods reported within 3–5 business days.

LAMPSHADES

Availability

Lampshades are sold on an "as available" and "as seen" basis.
Custom lampshades are not offered.

All lampshade sales are final.

CURTAIN PANELS

Availability

Curtain panels are sold subject to stock availability unless otherwise indicated.

All sales are final.

MINIATURE PAINTINGS

Availability

Miniature paintings are sold on an "as seen" basis.

All sales are final.

Returns or exchanges are accepted only for damaged or incorrectly shipped goods reported within 3–5 business days.

CHICK BLINDS

Natural Characteristics

Chick blinds are handcrafted using natural bamboo. Variations in colour, pattern, texture and bamboo tone are inherent characteristics of the material and handmade process and are not considered defects.

Size Limitations

Maximum recommended width is approximately 75–80 inches. Larger widths may result in bending, distortion or pulling. Dimensions supplied by the customer should include the finished loop.

Pulley Options

Available configurations include:

  • Double pulley with left-side adjustment cord.
  • Double pulley with right-side adjustment cord.
  • Single pulley with centre adjustment cord.

Natural handmade rope and polished wooden wheels are used.

Fabric Covering

Border fabric is included. Full fabric coverage is available at additional cost.

COM (Customer's Own Material)

Customer's Own Material (COM) is accepted subject to separate COM policies.

A charge of USD $70 per blind applies for COM installations, exclusive of fabric.

Inspection & Storage

All chick blinds must be unpacked and inspected within 3–5 business days of delivery.

Any claims relating to damage, defects, shortages or incorrect shipments must be submitted in writing within this period.

After inspection, blinds should be stored covered in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, moisture and excessive heat. Improper storage after delivery may affect the natural materials and shall not constitute a manufacturing defect.

FORCE MAJEURE

Details

Sloane by Hand shall not be liable for delays or inability to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters
  • Transportation interruptions
  • Labour disputes
  • Government actions
  • Supplier delays
  • Other unforeseen circumstances
