Traditionally used both indoors and outdoors, they serve as partitions within homes and as protective shades on verandahs and balconies. These blinds not only provide relief from the sun and privacy from onlookers but have historically played a role in social customs, offering women a discreet way to observe and interact with the world beyond their homes.

Handcrafted from high-quality bamboo, each blind undergoes a meticulous process to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. The bamboo is carefully treated with fire to eliminate excess oils before being split into slender slats. Skilled artisans then weave strong twine through the slats, securing them onto a single bamboo pole with weighted precision. This technique results in a lightweight yet sturdy blind that is both functional and decorative.

  • Roman Chick Blind

    This is the only way we do romans and ship.

    1. We make a baton in wood and cover it in the chosen fabric
    2. ⁠The baton has the roman mechanism attached which is then attached to the blind with ring and pull string
    3. ⁠The baton has Velcro attached to it that attaches to the blind
    4. Screw the baton on to where you would like to install the blind and you are ready to pull (screws included)

  • Traditional Chick Blind

    1. The blind comes with natural loops attached on the top
    2. Pls hang loops on hooks and let the blind roll down
    3. Now you can hold the pulley and pull to the length you want

CHICK BLINDS

What should I expect with chick blinds?

Chick blinds are natural products made from bamboo. Slight color variations may appear on the bamboo at intervals, this is part of the material's organic character. Pattern and color variations due to the handmade process should be expected and embraced as part of the artistry.

What size chick blinds can you make?

The maximum width is 75–80 inches. Anything larger may cause bending, misshaping, or pulling issues. The dimensions you provide should reflect the finished size including the loop.

What loop and pulley options are available?

We use natural loops (typically 1–2 inches, depending on blind weight). For pulleys, we offer:

  • Double pulley with left adjustment cord (recommended for wider blinds)
  • Double pulley with right adjustment cord
  • Single pulley with central adjustment cord (recommended for narrow blinds)

We'll recommend the best option once we review your size requirements. All pulleys use natural handmade rope and standard polished wood wheels.

What's included in the chick blind price?

Border only is included. If you require all-over fabric coverage, fabric is priced separately based on your needs.

Do you accept custom requests for chick blinds?

We do not offer COM (Customer's Own Material), but we do accept special requests. Please specify your requirements in a separate email.
