Chick Blinds
Chick blinds have been a staple of Bengali architecture for generations, valued for their practicality and cultural significance. Traditionally used both indoors and outdoors, they serve as partitions within homes and as protective shades on verandahs and balconies. These blinds not only provide relief from the sun and privacy from onlookers but have historically played a role in social customs, offering women a discreet way to observe and interact with the world beyond their homes.
Handcrafted from high-quality bamboo, each blind undergoes a meticulous process to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. The bamboo is carefully treated with fire to eliminate excess oils before being split into slender slats. Skilled artisans then weave strong twine through the slats, securing them onto a single bamboo pole with weighted precision. This technique results in a lightweight yet sturdy blind that is both functional and decorative.
We take pride in crafting made-to-order chick blinds tailored to suit diverse spaces. With a range of finishing options available, our blinds blend traditional craftsmanship with modern customization, making them a timeless addition to any home.
